Privacy

MapCraft HQ has no accounts and no database. Here is everything that happens with your data.

Maps are made on your device

The generators, editor, encounter builder and grid tools run in your browser. Maps you draw and files you export are never uploaded.

Saved maps

If you press “Save in browser”, the map is stored in this browser’s local storage under keys starting with mapcrafthq:. Up to 12 maps are kept. They stay on this device and are not sent to us.

Read-aloud writer (AI)

When you press “Write read-aloud text”, a short text summary of the current map (its type, size, room notes and prop counts) and your chosen tone are sent to our server and passed to a language model through Vercel AI Gateway to write the description. No personal information is included. We do not store the summaries or the replies. Requests are rate-limited by IP address in memory only.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not build a profile of you.
